Custom business applications
The work can include internal tools, portals, transaction-processing utilities, APIs and workflows connected to ERP or operational systems. I start by defining the users, business rules, data ownership and smallest useful delivery scope.
My background includes .NET development, SQL engineering, custom integrations and ERP-connected applications. The implementation approach is selected for the requirement and existing environment.
Legacy application assessment
I inspect available source, build instructions, runtime, databases and interfaces before proposing changes. I can then address defects, document dependencies, refactor code or plan an upgrade or replacement.
Where source or access is missing, the first deliverable is a feasibility assessment. Recovery or reconstruction cannot be promised before the available evidence is understood.
Modernization with useful handoff
Changes are delivered in defined increments, with testing and operating instructions. The aim is to leave the application easier to understand, maintain and change.
What the engagement can deliver
Deliverables can include an application and dependency assessment, a modernization plan, a working application feature, a repaired utility or a controlled code upgrade. Available source, access and test environments determine what can be delivered.
